I get a SPRING BREAK!!!

I am so excited! I get a Spring Break again! Woo Hoo. Really it is probably in my top three of things I miss. It is that blissful week, right when the weather is starting to warm and the sky is blue and the flowers are blooming and the leaves are returning to trees, blah blah blah nature blah, but more importantly, it is during that week that you (or atleast I) feel as if I don't have to do ANYTHING. I relax. Read. Hang out. Sleep in. Eat great food. Be around awesome people. Lay on the beach. I could go on and on describing the leisure of that week. Anyway, for the past few years I haven't had a Spring Break. You are probably all thinking, "Well, Jessie, you are an adult now. You aren't in college anymore. You don't get that in the real world. It's called your week of vacation (which is SO TOTALLY DIFFERENT... You have to really plan that and plan the time off, etc.)." With Spring Break, the week is chosen for you. All you have to do is decide what you are going to do with it....

Well, sorry to keep going off the path, because I really am going to get to the point.... I GET A SPRING BREAK THIS YEAR! I am ecstatic! The week was chosen for me by my job, according to the boys school schedule, So in actuality, I am going on the boys' Spring Break, but so what, same thing, right? I am heading to the coast. I have nothing planned except meeting
up with friends and hanging out with them and going out to dinner and maybe a few parties, etc. Lay on the beach, get sun, play, sleep in, stay up late.... YES!

So, I just wanted to let you all know this. No real reason, but I just can't get excited enough about it!!!

Real life stuff....

Nothing much happening. Busy hanging out with awesome high school kids! And new and old friends! Going to soccer games, candy runs with freshman girls to the grocery store, dinner out, grown-up time out and about, club, awesomely bad reality television (the Hills, yes, I LOVE it!) march madness (which by the way, I think that I am going to dominate), plans for the next couple months, and really good books... I will elaborate in order.

Young Life. I am really getting to know the CHHS kids and I absolutely LOVE them! Here are some random photos from the past few weeks... They are funny, that's why I am sharing...
Here is Club a couple of weeks ago. Notice Stephanie in the center with the helmet on. She was hit in the head with a coke can during raffle....Club last week with the competition between CHHS and MCHS to see if the girls could last duct-taped to the rafters for the entire club...

Anyway, my group of girls are awesome! We have started a Wednesday night dinner at Mellow Mushroom... I am hoping more girls get to start coming! We are having a blast!

I have made awesome new friends who are also leaders for YL. We are all going away in the middle of April for a fun-dilled overnight to the country... I will let you all know how that turns out... Skeet shooting, Grandma's cookin'- should be a blast!

Yes, The Hills started. Who is not SO EXCITED? haha... We had a Hills Premiere Party after Club Monday. I will say one thing, it is definitely different to watch that show with high schoolers. Just puts things into a different perspective. Fun, though. For sure.

As far as Basketball goes, last week was about as good as it gets. But, you have to admit, UCLA has an easy run to the Final Four. Lucky dogs. I am still waiting on Kansas to choke, sorry jayhawk fans. I am sincerely hoping for two things. The first is that UNC is beaten. Tonight would be fabulous, but i could wait until Elite Eight, if it has to Tennessee to beat them, but I would prefer them to lose tonight. if this happens, I can ultimately win our pool of 19 brackets... Woo Hoo. The second thing I hope for is that in the end, Memphis can come out on top of Texas and ultimately win it all... Wishful thinking... and fingers crossed, and all of the other superstitious mumbo jumbo.... You have to admit, it's a really awesome time for sports....

About the books... I have been reading constantly. I am in the middle of the gospel of Matthew at the moment. As far as individual books, I am reading Chuck Klosterman's IV: A Decade of Curious People and Dangerous Ideas. To sum it up, it is a collection of articles he has written about pop-culture, and the people that make up pop-culture. Before every essay/article, he prefaces the experience and the aftermath of each article being published. It is super-entertaining and fun. Highly recommend it....

Next comes Hunter Thompson's Great Shark Hunt. Can't wait!

(longest blog ever...)

Peace.

Oh, forgot.

Everyone needs to know one of my favorite songs....

It's a feel-gooder, damn the man, etc...

"If I had a boat" by Lyle Lovett.... Woo Hoo...

go ahead and download "Shakedown Street" Grateful Dead while you are at it....

PEACE.
So.... a month... well, a month and a day.

Wow. How so much happens so fast. A couple of glasses (or a few couple) of wine may support the following revelation... but in all honesty, it is prayer.

There are times in our lives when we feel so completely lost and empty. Then there is prayer and the trust we put in God. Then there are His answers. They may not be what you were expecting, but He answers....

Picture a 1000 piece puzzle. (that is my life). Picture that one moment when you connect about 15 pieces in a row. That is my life right now!

I don't think much could wipe the smile off of my face right now!!!

HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!!!!
